Do you have a flexible approach, a strong commitment to providing a high-quality HR service and proven recruitment experience gained in a large, complex organisation where the focus is on customer service, possibly in the Higher Education or Further Education sectors? Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment that’s open, vibrant and welcomes new ideas? Then join the University of East London as a Resourcing Advisor.
It’s a particularly exciting time here at the University of East London as, under our ambitious 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, we’re committed to providing students with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world, including increasing the diversity of the talent pipeline, particularly for Industry 4.0 jobs. Our goal in Human Resources is to support our people to deliver that strategy. However, we can only achieve that if we have an engaged and diverse workforce with the skills, commitment and leadership it takes to succeed.
Right now, we’re looking for an accomplished HR professional to join our team and help provide a high-quality resourcing service that meets customer needs, as well as our strategic objectives. Day-to-day, we will rely on you to provide expert advice on, and solutions to, a variety of resourcing issues, including advising line managers on the application and interpretation of our Recruitment policies and procedures. You’ll also be responsible for developing management information and take a lead role in discreet areas of activity such as agency engagement, assessment centres and salary benchmarking. Undertaking resourcing focused project work will be an important aspect of the role too, as will carrying out transactional HR administration duties, providing support for more complex recruitment issues and deputising for the Resourcing Manager when required.
Keeping abreast of developments in employment legislation to ensure we are compliant, helping to design and deliver information sessions on resourcing and apprenticeship policies and procedures and providing one-to-one recruitment training where necessary – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.
CIPD qualified, or working towards it, you have relevant experience, a good understanding of UK employment law and current recruitment and apprentice trends, plus an appreciation of the related equality and diversity issues. You’re also adept at using an HR database and Microsoft Office applications and have a flair for interpreting and appropriately acting upon management information. What’s more, you’re comfortable working independently – i.e., planning, prioritising and organising your own work on a daily, weekly and monthly basis - and remain calm and professional under pressure. And, when it comes to working as part of a team, building sustainable working relationships with key stakeholders or using your initiative and creativity to identify practical solutions to resolve complex problems that are unpredictable, again, you excel.
So, if you have what we are looking for and are keen to further develop while working as part of a friendly HR team, get in touch.
At the University of East London, we aim to attract and retain the best possible staff and offer a working environment at the heart of a dynamic region with excellent transport links. You can look forward to a warm, sincere welcome, genuine camaraderie and mobility in an institution led with passion, visibility and purpose. Your impact, resilience and sense of collegiality will directly contribute to the University’s future and those of the students whose lives you will touch and change forever. We also offer a great range of benefits including pension, family friendly policies and an on-site nursery and gym at our Docklands Campus.
Closing date: 29th November 2022.
