Diversity and inclusion (D & I) really matters to us, because we need to serve every community across the UK. With 1,500 employees and apprentices, plus 6,000 volunteers, we want to ensure that the RSPCA remains an employer and cause of choice, in which staff and volunteers feel welcomed and proud to belong. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented, experienced change professional to accelerate and extend our work on D & I across everything we do.
As a key member of the Employee Experience team you’ll be accountable for leading and delivering our EDI strategy and agenda, championing EDI across the society with internal and external stakeholders and developing capabilities of staff and leaders in embedding EDI in their daily roles. You’ll be working closely with senior leaders to develop a comprehensive understanding of the benefits of a diverse and inclusive culture, and securing their support to ensure our plans are rolled out and embedded successfully across the whole Society.
You’ll be a confident, credible and adaptable expert, with the ability to work at all levels to influence colleagues to integrate D&I principles into their own spheres of accountability. With a track record of developing inclusive cultures in previous roles, you’ll have a sophisticated understanding of how national organisations, with large volunteer cohorts, can achieve lasting change through internal advocacy. Resilience, optimism and a comprehensive repertoire of communication techniques are all essential, and strong candidates will additionally bring experience of programme management.
