The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.
MOPAC is navigating through significant workforce and workplace change, seeking to embed new ways of working and connecting, driving an inclusion culture. All whilst delivering in a fast paced political and demand led environment providing oversight of the Metropolitan Police Service and developing commissioned services for London. In the midst of this we are moving to a new HR service delivery model! We recognise the scale of this challenge and have developed this new exciting role to partner the business and close the gap between HR strategy and operations to support all of MOPAC.
Specifically, you will:
- Partner with managers to develop workforce solutions ensuring alignment to MOPAC strategies and objectives through effective delivery of the People Strategy comprising: Managing, Recognising and Developing our People, Inclusive Culture, Healthy Working Environment, Great Leaders and Managers.
- Support the Head of HR & OD in the implementation of hybrid working at MOPAC, ensuring effective workforce planning, talent and succession, learning and development, and employee experience activities and interventions.
- Lead the implementation of the new HR service delivery model including building a new team and establishing the external shared service arrangement ensuring a smooth transition and improved service for MOPAC.

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.
Security Vetting Clearance
The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting (RV/CTC) which may take around 8 weeks, or longer in some cases, to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.
