We are looking for an experienced senior HR professional to lead and manage all aspects of human resource service and development within a defined area of the University, namely Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).
Reporting to the HR Engagement Director and managing a small team, we need a self-starter with initiative, who can “hit the ground running” – to ensure that the HR plans are both in line with the overall University HR strategy and the needs of WMG.
The role also involves supporting and championing the development and implementation of both the institutional and departmental HR Strategies and associated initiatives and plans and acting as a role model at all times for the University and WMG Values. The ability to work quickly and think strategically are key, as well as the confidence and gravitas to challenge where necessary.
This is an exciting time to join WMG, as it continues to grow its world-class research and education activities, with a refreshed Strategy and a challenging set of business objectives for the next year. HR-related initiatives include: a Positive Action campaign and continued Athena Swan activities following its successful Silver Award; campaigns focusing on dignity and respect; HR process improvements; and a significant investment in training to support and upskill line management.
The postholder will be expected to lead workstreams within these projects and deliver a range of training sessions.
As one of the largest employers in the region, we’re based on a beautiful campus between Coventry and Warwickshire. Although the role will be based on campus, we are currently exploring a hybrid working policy which will allow for greater flexible working from September 2021 onwards.
Closing date: 8 August 2021.
Interviews are scheduled for Wed 18 August 2021.
