People Advisor

Role Summary

We have an amazing opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic People Advisor to join the Cox & Cox Team. We are growing fast as a business and we are dedicated to growing our people too – they are at the heart of what we do. We are looking for a strong generalist to work with the Head of People. This is our very first People Team so we need someone who will roll up their sleeves and get stuck into creating a great end to end employee experience. This is a role that will need to work very closely with all areas of the business to continue to create an engaging, happy and rewarding place to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Add value to the business by helping create a fantastic working culture
  • Support all managers in people related issues – from recruitment onwards
  • Support the Head of People in launching and embedding Cox & Cox values and a people development framework
  • Create and roll out clear, effective people related processes that are right for Cox & Cox
  • Manage our brand new (and frankly wonderful) people system
  • Ensure we are totally compliant with all employment law, GDPR etc


  • Must be able to work at pace and with accuracy
  • Can drive change and take others with them
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and bring clarity to situations
  • Be kind and empathetic
  • Can give clear feedback and have courageous conversations
  • Is supportive and challenging in equal measure
  • Has excellent coaching skills
  • High levels of resilience
  • Brilliant knowledge of employment law and ER procedures and can execute with pragmatism
  • CIPD qualification or studying towards level 5 and/or relevant experience
  • At least 3 years in an HR role – Assistant level minimum
