(Interim) Head of Acquisition Marketing

We are looking to hire an experienced, strategically focused marketing leader to play a critical role in the growth of an ecommerce software and marketing services provider.

In essence the role is to drive qualified leads from target segments at a target CPL through performance focused marketing activities, and work with sales to support the conversion of these leads to wins.

Drive qualified leads from target segments at a target CPL through performance focused marketing activities, and work with sales to support the conversion of these leads to wins

Generate efficient online demand for services through paid digital activity (PPC, Paid Social)
▪ Create both evergreen and tactical campaigns across multiple platforms
▪ Test and optimise creative and copy to maximise engagement
▪ Manage bids to optimise for cost per acquisition

Maximise their visibility in organic search through SEO:
▪ Ensure that the setup of the site is in line with best practice
▪ Align the website to the needs of potential clients through keyword research
▪ Prioritise relevant content and working with the business to generate it
▪ Build high quality links through working with the Company's PR agency

Maximise the impact of email marketing for new and existing clients
▪ Deliver new business, by generating and/or converting leads
▪ Drive up-sell/cross-sell and client retention from existing clients

Work with Sales to optimise the conversion of online demand to quality leads
▪ Ensure an ongoing test and learn approach across content types (e.g. webinars, reports) and website functionality (e.g. request call back, schedule an appointment)
▪ Leverage new martech to support efficient conversion from click through to sale

▪ Build a roadmap for marketing strategy over a longer-term horizon (i.e. extending existing channels and/or testing new avenues to market)
▪ Work with CRO to define the organisation structure, roles and resourcing needed for acquisition marketing going forward
▪ Ensure the business has the analytical frameworks and processes in place required to direct marketing spend across channels, campaigns and providers

Work with internal stakeholders to refine or devise marketing metrics and KPIs as needed to inform ROI

Measure and report on marketing effectiveness across all channels with a focus on maximising ROI and new client acquisition

▪ Where agreed with senior management, source and manage agencies required to support marketing activity

▪ Role will be supported with marketing resources (media buyers / content creators


* Educated to degree level or equivalent

* Proven experience in leading the formation and roll-out of a digital marketing strategy within a similar B2B (ideally software) business

* Must have strong strategic ability whilst also being able to roll the strategy out, including experience directing the activities of the marketing team

* Experience of building and improving the analytics and metrics required to inform ROI driven digital marketing

* Deep specialist knowledge in one or more digital acquisition channels, ideally online search and/or social (LinkedIn)

* Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

▪ Will have had experience working with senior or board level stakeholders

▪ Creative thinker

▪ Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)

▪ Good planning and organisation skills - able to manage multiple tasks effectively

▪ Attention to detail when producing data, reports, or other analysis

▪ Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

▪ Strong written and oral communication skills

▪ Ability to work under pressure

▪ Full understanding of Lead generation / Marketing function

▪ Ideally experience of using a marketing automation tool
