My client is a high-profile Non-Departmental Public Body that is at the start of an ambitious 3-year plan to accelerate the delivery of its strategic ambitions. People are central to this framework and commitment, we are exclusively working together to recruit an exciting opportunity as their Deputy Director of People to help drive and shape the HR function.

Reporting to the Corporate Services Director, the Deputy Director, People is responsible for managing a team of 15 with four direct reports across multiple locations. This team encompasses HR Business Partnering and HR Operations, sitting alongside a separate L&D and EDI Team.

The HR function is embarking on the second stage of an exciting improvement journey and you will be responsible for taking a traditionally reactive HR function through the necessary change and transformation in order to become a more proactive, efficient and effective function, which will also involve the creation of a new HR Service Model following the implementation of a new HRIS - iTrent.

On a day to day basis you will drive a high-performance culture, coaching, inspiring and empowering those within your team. You will encourage and engage, nurturing team development and people's career paths. You will need to roll your sleeves up and immerse yourself in the organisation in order to truly identify continuous improvement. You will be creative and innovative in your approach.

This organisation has responsibility for distributing significant funds to organisations and people within the community sector, endeavouring to ensure funds reach those who need it most, which is ever more important in the current climate. In order to be successful in your application, you will need to demonstrate significant experience working at Head of HR level, managing large teams across your career. Your background will ideally be a blend of commercial, public and third sector organisations, but paramount is that your values are aligned with the purpose and vision of this organisation. You will have a commercial conscious, be dynamic, innovative and have an improvement mindset.

This is fantastic opportunity for an HR Leader to make a significant impact in the development and HR offering across a progressive organisation. Due to the current climate, you will join and onboard remotely. When offices reopen, you will need to be on site in Birmingham 2-3 days per week with a mixture of working from home and travelling to other UK offices.
