HR Manager

A newly created stand alone HR Manager role based in Croydon .

Have autonomy to build a new HR function and report directly to the COO

Client Details

An entrepreneurial company in the pharmacy and retail sectors, with over £50 million turnover last year. Based at a new site in Croydon, the client has multiple sites across England. They are looking for an individual to establish a HR function in this rapidly growing and changing environment.


  • HR Manager will report directly to the COO
  • Support employees based in the Croydon office, with twice monthly travel to the sites (Nation wide- North East England, across the south from Essex to Bristol)
  • Implement HR policies and procedures
  • Work with finance on payroll to support over 500 employees
  • Establish a new HR function from the ground up in collaboration with senior stakeholders
  • Manage pay roll, recruitment, TUPE/ acquisition and advise managers on basic HR procedures
  • Implement performance management processes and work force planning


  • HR Manager able to adopt a flexible approach to working in a rapidly growing and changing company
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, using own initiative in a stand alone generalist role
  • Experience in retail or pharmaceuticals desirable with the understanding of a fast paced environment
  • TUPE/ acquisition experience essential
  • Ability and willingness to travel twice monthly nationally
  • Full driving licence with access to a vehicle
  • CIPD qualified

Job Offer

£42,000 - £50,000 plus benefits
