At the CMA, we investigate whether competition is working fairly, and we intervene if it isn’t. We work in many diverse market sectors across the UK economy, from major hotel booking sites and online gambling, to secondary ticketing and social media influencers.
As we prepare to take on an even bigger role following our exit from the EU, the diversity, number, and complexity of the cases we work on is increasing. This means our workforce is growing across the UK, presenting a career-defining opportunity for a Recruitment Adviser to join the CMA Recruitment team and lead on a number of specialist recruitment services.
About the role
As a Recruitment Adviser, you will be responsible for managing a first-class compliance check service and onboarding experience for all new employees joining the CMA. Reporting to a Senior Recruitment Adviser and work managing a team of Recruitment Officers, this role also oversees temporary (agency) staff recruitment for the CMA, providing end-to-end support from meeting with hiring managers to discuss their resourcing needs, identifying and liaising with preferred agency suppliers, through to ensuring the best candidates are identified and appointed into our organisation, with all compliance checks in place.
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of the role, you will also play a pivotal role in managing the secretariat function of monthly Workforce Planning Committee meetings, as well as contributing to the delivery of the broader HR Priorities plan and a series of improvements to ensure the processes and practices of the recruitment team and hiring managers are in line with best practice.
To be successful for interview, you must demonstrate in your application proven experience of working in a HR/Recruitment administration or coordination role, with specific responsibility for maintaining accurate information and data files and confidential records. You must also have a strong understanding and successful application of Microsoft Excel (specifically managing data, spreadsheets and reporting), coupled with some experience of using HR or similar CRM systems. A proficient communicator, you will have proven experience of building professional relationships and liaising with stakeholders at varying levels.
In return, the CMA offers you a rewarding, stimulating and inclusive place to work. We champion a culture that respects your work-life balance, provide training tailored to maximise your potential, and offer genuine opportunities for career progression.
