Employee Relations Manager

My client, leading insurance business, have an exciting new ER Manager opportunity available in Brighton.

As an ER Manager you will provide trusted advice to management on a broad range of cases and support in building their capability to take ownership of employee relation issues within their own team. This role will also have line management responsibilities of 2 junior team members.

  • Effective management of ER cases, this will include but is not limited to disciplinary, grievances, investigations, appeals, and capability procedures
  • Manage broader ER activity including restructuring and policy development
  • Manage and support in relation to all elements of TUPE and Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Upskill and develop the capacity of line managers to manage their own teams ER problems
    • Design and deliver training workshops
  • Effective relationship management and partnering with Occupational Health to deliver an effective well-being strategy
  • Write and update HR procedures and policy
  • Providing coaching, support and professional development for people managers
  • Effective HR Risk Management
  • Reporting, analytics and people insights
  • Line management responsibilities

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience managing a broad and high volume caseload - including absence and lateness
  • Strong Employment Law knowledge
  • Experience in a contact centre environment managing employee relations cases / issues would be beneficial
  • Self-starter
  • Sound judgement
  • High drive for continuous improvement in ways of working
  • Highly organised, with a flexible approach to work
  • Ability to analyse and draw insight from data
