The Commonwealth Secretariat is the principal intergovernmental body of the Commonwealth, engaged in advancing and achieving the shared goals of 53 member governments in advancing democracy, development and respect for diversity.
As HR Business Partner, Performance Management, the successful candidate will provide effective HR operational services and advice to directors, line managers and staff in their designated client groups. Working in close collaboration with other HR colleagues, the role includes input into HR policy work, developing and implementing operational procedures, managing complex employee relations cases, ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting, managing inductions, contract variations and line management responsibility. This post will also play a key role in running performance management systems and in developing and delivering employee engagement initiatives. A strong focus on customer service and delivering outcomes is paramount.
To be considered, you will need to have a post-graduate university degree or equivalent in Management, Human Resource Management/Development, Public or Business Administration, or a related area. Professional qualification in Human Resources such as CIPD (Chartered membership) or equivalent is also required. In line with requirements in similar international organisations, you will need to demonstrate at least 10 years’ progressively responsible experience in generalist human resources management; experience in managing complex employee relations cases successfully, experience in and sound understanding of implementing employee engagement surveys and initiatives; and experience in developing and running performance appraisal/management processes. You should also have experience in line management.
