HR Business Partner
C. Hoare & Co. are the United Kingdom’s oldest, family owned private bank employing c400 people across their headquarters in Fleet Street and branches in Knightsbridge and Cambridge. The bank is the sole survivor of the private deposit banks established in the 17th and 18th centuries and has been owned and directed by members of the Hoare family since it was founded by Richard Hoare in 1672.

A need has arisen to appoint an experienced HR Business Partner in the bank’s HR function who will support a diverse range of client groups which will include the Private Banking Division and areas of business services. Reporting to the Head of HR you will be responsible for cultivating meaningful business relationships with functional leaders and partner with the business across a diverse range of employee territories. Critical to the success of the role is enhancing employee engagement, which is the primary outcome of the bank’s people strategy.
Key responsibilities will also include the facilitation of key talent decisions which are aligned to the bank’s broader talent agenda. This will involve acting on talent identification and succession planning discussions and monitoring performance management metrics. You will also be responsible for leading on identified ER issues in assigned groups and partner with the Head of HR in relation to escalation and risk mitigation.
The HR Business Partner should be comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level within the business. The successful candidate should be analytical and capable of flexing solutions to changing demands. Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated interest in the financial services sector is desirable, however, the bank is sector agnostic and welcomes applications from outside the banking sector.
