Copart was founded in the USA in 1982. Copart is a NASDAQ listed company and currently operates in more than 200 locations in 11 countries and has over 125,000 vehicles up for auction every day. With locations throughout Asia, North and South America, the Middle East and Europe, including 16 locations across the UK they are a fast paced, exciting business that is growing both organically and through acquisition.

The company employees well over 1,000 people split across 15 operational sites around the UK as well a head office team, based near Bedford. Employees range from functional senior management to yard operatives, including a significant population of transporter drivers.

Job Description

As the HR professional within the senior leadership team you be will developing and implementing the people strategy, aligning it with the needs of a business that is constantly evolving and growing. The Head of HR will report directly into the Managing Director for the UK and will be instrumental in ensuring the people agenda marries with the ambitious plans the company has in terms of growth. The role is very operational so would suit someone that really enjoys being at the heart of the business.

The Successful Applicant

The Head of HR needs to be a proven generalist that is able to think strategically whilst still being in the detail as they will be expected to immerse themselves in the business and really be the go to person for everything people focused. Ideally the successful candidate will come from a multi-site blue collar environment with a demonstrable track record of successfully developing the HR function, with leading projects experience.

What's on Offer

The Head of Human Resources is a pivotal role for Copart and comes with an attractive salary of circa £70,000 plus a £9,000 car allowance, great benefits and potential for annual bonus of up to 50% of salary.
