Our client a large financial services firm based in the centre of Birmingham are looking for a payroll supervisor to join their HR & Payroll function. You will have overall responsibility to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the organisation's monthly payroll. You will work to ensure the payroll polices and procedures are fully compliant and oversee the work of the rest of the team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll from start to finish for approx. 1,500 employees
  • Deal with any escalated payroll queries from staff in a timely manner
  • Oversee the employee benefits system ensuring all relevant information is communicated with the payroll team
  • Managing pensions
  • Support the payroll team to meet their key targets

Experience required:

  • CIPP qualified
  • Previous experience managing a payroll system transformation
  • Previous experience managing a payroll team
  • Good working knowledge of PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SPP
  • Good understanding of Pensions
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Open People is highly desirable
