Deputy Director of Human Resources

Shaping a World of Change.

Ready to take the lead at Manchester Met?

With change comes challenge. But that’s what you thrive on. Having already led change, in whatever sector, you’re ready to take the next step, deploying your skills and experience in a place where we understand how important our people agenda is to delivering our ambitious organisational goals.

Manchester Metropolitan University is always evolving. Right now, we’re also undergoing intense transformational change. That makes this a rare opportunity to join us at senior level where you will work collaboratively with colleagues to drive both service and cultural change, enable good employee relations and partner Assistant Directors to drive vital projects.

At the heart of your role is developing the detailed action plan that delivers transformational change. Moreover, you’ll influence service delivery improvements and lead pressing and important HR projects, all while maintaining ‘business as usual’ for everyone across our organisation. It’s a wide-ranging role that offers incredible potential to bring fresh thinking to work and to champion the positive, supportive culture we strive to embody.

Wherever you’ve gained your generalist HR experience, you’ve done it in a culture of ambitious change and so have a track record of delivering. Of degree calibre and a CIPD Member or Fellow, you’re also an accomplished leader who can inspire and motivate diverse teams in a fluid environment. Both emotionally intelligent and comfortable with complex situations, data and legislation, you’ll be excited to push the boundaries in our multi-cultural, non-linear environment.

Your approach is just as important: you’ll bring a positive, inclusive, and collegial leadership style coupled with the credibility and capacity to foster fruitful relationships with the HRD and senior team.

Whoever you are, wherever you are and whatever you want to achieve, if you have the drive, we will support you and help you make your mark on the world. Along the way, you’ll also enjoy a competitive rewards and benefits package.

Please note, interviews for this role will be held on the 29th of May.
