People Services is committed to providing The Open University with high quality people solutions and is valued for its efficiency, expertise, partnering capability and service.

HR have been engaged in a transformation programme for the last 18 months, working to implement a new operating model, bringing together staff from around the university into a single People Services function with consistent processes and ways of working.

We are now about to embark on the final phase of the transformation, which will involve implementing a new HR System and changes to the remaining parts of People Services activity, to bring them in line with the People Services model.  You will be responsible for ensuring the existing HR systems continue to be maintained and are compliant as the University migrates to a new HR system.

Through strong and professional thought leadership, the Head of Reward and Insight will provide strategic oversight to the development of reward, benefits, performance and people management information strategies to enable the University to achieve its strategic objectives, ensuring focus is on diversity and inclusiveness to ensure accessibility and equality of approach to all colleagues.

You will define and implement a strategic approach to people data analytics for both People Services and the business, ensuring the provision of strategic human resource management information and performance data.

As a key member of the senior HR leadership team, develop and execute HR strategy plans to ensure close alignment to institutional priorities through strong collaboration and effective team working.

We are looking for a chartered member of CIPD or equivalent experience in this specialist field and who has experience of working at a senior HR level in a complex unionised organization.

You should have demonstrable leadership of a team, experience of managing projects and delivering successful outcomes, as well as building strong relationship and partnerships with key influencers across the organisation.
