Head of HR Consultancy

This is a vital role within our HR leadership community. You will be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled HR consultants to deliver projects and activity across Quilter plc, managing conflicting demands to ensure projects are effectively resourced.

About the role

A great opportunity to be part of our newly proposed HR structure. Within this role you will be responsible for managing a team of 8-10 highly skilled HR consultants deliver projects and HR workstreams of business change across Quilter plc. We see the individual supporting with;

  • Resource management and work allocation for the HR consulting practice 
  • Improve operational effectiveness through a consultancy model that is agile and considers both project requirements and cyclical HR activity ensuring that there is bandwidth and capacity to deliver across the whole HR portfolio
  • Enhance HR capability through the effective performance management and development of HR consultants, ensuring future skills/capabilities are developed
  • Upskill the team through training and coaching in project methodologies with a focus on practical application/commercial value

Your will also be responsible for Project Delivery & Governance as below;

  • Define the Quilter HR approach to project management, including how the consultancy practice works with the other centres of excellence, HR service delivery and Heads of HR to deliver best in class HR products
  • Build a ‘take to market’ strategy to effectively embed the model across the organisation
  • Deliver ‘toolkits’ for HR products, ensuring consistency and best practice in all HR activities
  • Define and manage project reporting mechanisms to the rest of the HR leadership team and relevant business stakeholders
  • Define project governance across the HR function, working cross divisionally with other project teams 
  • Manage the resource requirements of the business ensuring BAU activity and Project activity are effectively balanced, examples include Mergers & Acquisitions, Divestments, Organisational Change – Restructures, Organisational Design, Cyclical business activity Performance Management, Reward, Culture
About you
  • HR background gained in generalist or specialist areas with a pragmatic approach to process and practice 
  • Good understanding of the project management discipline and best practice
  • Experience of change programmes in complex organisations
  • Managing senior stakeholders, with a focus on balancing competing requirements
  • Managing and developing a team 
  • Leading a team through change
You will also be CIPD level 7 qualified and hold a Change/project management qualification.
