Head of Payroll - West Midlands

A large retail business in the West Midlands are looking for a Payroll Manager.
This is a new role created to bridge the gap between operational Payroll and strategic overview, leading a large Payroll function which services a significant headcount across the UK.
This is a business that has seen significant growth in recent times and the implementation of new Payroll systems. With over 15 separate payrolls this is a complex requirement within a fast moving matrix business; as Payroll Manager you will ensure that the day to day runs smoothly by creating an efficient process. Additionally, you will work with colleagues across HR and the wider business to input to and support business strategy.
We are looking for:
Experience leading a large payroll team with over 10 direct reports
Experience in a large corporate business with significant headcount
Ability to coach and mentor your team, maintaining a positive and collaborative ethos
Experience developing payroll strategy
Ability to improve on existing process to create a robust and clear framework for all staff
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a track record of working at executive board level
