The GDC employs approximately 350 employees, mostly based in London. We also engage the services of over 500 associates and panellists who sit on our statutory committees, hearings and fitness to practise panels. From October 2018 a new Birmingham Office opened with circa 90 staff. Further staff will be joining throughout 2019.
About the role:

During 2018 the GDC embarked on a two-year Estates Strategy to consolidate the number of offices and create a strategic corporate centre in London and an operational hub in Birmingham. We are currently part way through the programme with the Birmingham office open, staff leaving London and new staff joining Birmingham.
A People Coordinator is needed to provide effective coordination of administration and systems for all stages of workforce lifecycle for GDC People (employees and associates). The People Coordinator will support the People Delivery team in providing a customer focused People service for GDC People. The People Coordinator will also present the GDC positively and professionally and provide first response to external and internal queries providing advice on HR issues as appropriate
The HR team comprises 16 members primarily located in London but transitioning to a Birmingham led service during 2019.
You will have experience of providing a high quality administrative/co-ordination HR support service in a busy and challenging environment. You will be highly proactive, self-starting and confident with the ability to use initiative and anticipate the HR team’s needs without a high level of instruction. You will have excellent written communication skills including the ability to produce emails, letters, minutes, and reports that are accurate and in an appropriate style.
You will be highly organised and comfortable with multi-tasking and prioritising in order to manage a busy workload and meet competing deadlines. You will be proficient in use of data-based systems with the ability to generate reports. You will be able to act with diplomacy and discretion and to safeguard confidential and sensitive information
