HR Advisor

An exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join a leading global Investment Bank in the heart of the City of London. The HR Advisor will operate as part of the HR Business Partner team providing advisory and transactional support to managers and employees within the Bank. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role is key in terms of supporting and delivering the overall end to end HR service.


  • Prepare new starter contracts and offer documentation working with Recruitment BPs to ensure an effective and smooth onboarding for both the candidate and line manager

  • Deliver key HR processes including processing employee changes and leavers in a timely manner

  • Process statutory leave requests and provide advice as required to managers and employees

  • Review and update HR systems to ensure accurate data and MI can be maintained and produced

  • Produce ad hoc reports for managers and project teams as requested

  • Carry out audit and checking activities as required

  • Ensure accuracy of all data entered into the systems in line with the agreed processes

  • Make sure all documents are recorded appropriately and filed securely in line with GDPR requirements

Advisory/Support/ Project

  • Act as key point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance on HR policy, process and operating procedures to employees and managers

  • Escalate any sensitive issues to the HR BP as appropriate

  • Answer email and telephone queries from employees, managers and HR BPs or escalate as appropriate

  • Provide support and assistance to the Associate HRBPs and HR BPs when dealing with employee queries or people initiatives

  • Produce salary and bonus letters in line with the Compensation Review timetable

  • Carry out exit interviews and feedback to the HR BP and Line Manager.

  • Analyse exit interviews and review thematically, producing analysis to be shared with the Senior HRBP and leadership teams

  • Carry out note taking for employee relations meetings as required by the HRBP within a timely manner

  • Support HR team in talent activities as required


  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required


  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships quickly

  • Ability to manage work requests working to tight timescales whilst maintaining high quality and accuracy

  • Very strong demonstrable Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
