Scope – Here East, Stratford
Scope is the leading pan-disability charity in England and Wales. In April 2017, it launched its new strategy, Everyday Equality, which sets out an ambitious new approach to driving change so that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. This will be based on creating a community of disabled people and their families empowered by best-in-class information, advice and support and an operating model underpinned by digital technology. The Strategy will be delivered through two inter-connected offers: a direct offer to disabled people and their families and a plan to influence public policy and change attitudes.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join Scope. With new senior leaders in place, including the CEO and Executive Director, People and Change, you will lead the transformation of the HR function, ensuring that it supports the delivery of the strategic plan. With a high degree of autonomy, you will be pivotal in creating a pioneering, innovative and agile function which touches all phases of the employee life cycle and offers a best-in-class employee experience.
Working closely with the Executive Director, People and Change, and living the values of Fair, Open, Courageous, Pioneering and Connected, you’ll lead and inspire the HR team; provide specialist HR input into the development of an end to end operating model; help to drive culture change and embed the values across the organisation. This is a hugely diverse role covering all functional disciplines such as operations, strategy, learning and development and employee engagement.
Candidates for the role will be qualified practitioners with Retail sector experience; FCIPD, MCIPD or equivalent is essential. Third sector and volunteering experience whilst extremely desirable, is not essential. With a successful track record of leading and managing teams through change, candidates will have gravitas to quickly gain credibility at all levels and influence people’s thinking. Candidates will be generalists with experience of working in all functional disciplines.
Equality and inclusion are at the heart of Scope’s mission and they are absolutely committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work place with equality of opportunity for all.
