Learning & Development Manager

We are supporting this exciting business attaining an L&D Manager to work with a HR Director to devise and implement a leading edge L&D strategy.

This Learning & Development Manager role is brand new to the business. The key focuses will be to ultimately design and deliver a value-add function of the overall HR proposition.

This chosen candidate for this role, reporting into the HR Director and owning the entire budget, will work closely with the SLT, SMT and Managers to provide an overall TNA on the business against its strategic goals.

As the Learning & Development Manager your key focuses on the role will be as follows;

  • Managing the full learning life-cycle
  • Leadership and Management Development
  • Grassroots and Emerging Talent; inclusive of apprenticeship and graduate levels
  • Sourcing and implementing a new Learning Management System
  • Engagement; with a goal of improving the experience for colleagues and customers
  • Manage and develop another L&D professional

This role will also require regular travel across the North. The base of the role is flexible across the North West, however there is a preference of having a candidate from within the Manchester or East Cheshire region due to stakeholder relations.


The successful Learning & Development Manager with have proven experience within a similar role within the Retail, Hospitality or Leisure sectors - therefore you will truly understand the value in developing people to provide the best customer journey. You will also have a proven ability to develop other L&D specialists.

You will have an adept Learning & Development toolkit and have the ability to complete a business TNA and strategise and implement the face of L&D within the organisation. You will have the ability to engage, influence and persuade a diverse client group across all functions and levels of the business.

Job Offer

£35,000 to £45,000 per annum (dependant on relevant experience), plus a car allowance and a suit of benefits.
