The Global Head of Learning and Development will understand the global business strategy and people vision to develop and deliver an L&D strategy

Responsibilities will include:

  • Direct the design, development and management of high quality, impactful learning and development solution

  • Achieve a balance between flagship programmes to address strategic ongoing needs and new propositions for developing talent

  • Set the strategy and frameworks for the global learning academies approach and the technology infrastructure that support virtual and collaborative learning

  • Collaborate and co-ordinate globally to ensure consistency whilst responding to local/ cultural needs

  • Ensure that all programmes are aligned with global culture and values

  • Manage global L&D team members and leverage the network of HR Business Partners who support and deliver regional/business development solutions

  • Contribute to the leadership of broader global talent management practices and initiatives

  • Set and monitor the effectiveness of the learning and development provision and monitoring of training and develop internal solutions where appropriate

The ideal candidate will have the following key skills:

  • Proven experience of working as a senior L&D lead within a complex, global organisation

  • Knowledge of current global trends, emerging research and best practice in relation to leadership development and organisation, team and individual learning

  • Proven experience of driving creative approaches in the space of virtual and real-time, connected learning and enhancing user experience with the latest innovations

  • Commercial approach; balancing scalability with practical efficiency

  • Extensive experience in design and delivery of learning, including various methodologies and structure

  • Financial services experience preferred but experience working a complex global professional services environment will also be considered

  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high results

  • Ability to navigate and build strong relationships and credibility at all levels across regions and functions with proven skills at partnering with senior business heads and members of the HR leadership team.

  • Proven ability to manage a globally dispersed team of L&D professionals, with the ability to motivate and inspire a large matrixed team around a common agenda in line with the strategic goals of the organisation
