Reporting into the Head of HR, the HR Manager will take responsibility for all operational HR generalist activities for the organisation, contributing to an ambitious and progressive people strategy.

Our client is a well-known organisation within the Arts & Entertainment industry


The role responsibilities involve:

  • Support managers on the full spectrum of employee related queries, giving sound, pragmatic and business-savvy advice.

  • Develop policies and procedures in line with changing legislation and developments in HR best practice
  • Oversee recruitment practices for the organisation, providing guidance and mentoring for the HR Assistant and managers in the recruitment for a wide range of posts
  • Take responsibility for managing weekly and monthly payroll for the organisation, dealing with queries as required
  • Coach and enable managers on the full spectrum of performance and appraisal processes
  • Support HR colleagues in ensuring the organisation fully complies with its UKVI and GDPR obligations
  • Manage staff welfare initiatives such as the Employee Assistance Programme and Mental Health First Aiders
  • Support managers with restructures and change management activities as required
  • Line management of HR Assistant and People Systems & Payroll Specialist


We're looking for a candidate with the following qualities:

  • Strong background in generalist HR management, encompassing strong knowledge of employment law, policy development and contract law
  • Experience of effectively coaching managers through employee relations matters
  • Thorough understanding of payroll administration
  • Ability to be calm under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to show empathy and have credibility at all levels of an organisation

Job Offer

12 Month Maternity Cover Contract, Salary up to £40,000 dependant on experience
