Our client is a highly innovative global manufacturing business with £250m sales. They have recently acquired a site in North Yorkshire employing c400 people and are looking for a new experienced Senior HRBP/HR Manager to manage its UK operations at this location. Reporting to the Divisional VP HR in the US and with a dotted line into the UK based Head of Global Supply Chain, you'll be the site's HR expert with responsibility to deliver all strategic and operational elements of the people agenda.

Following the site's acquisition, there is going to be significant change within the organisation, so we'll be looking to the successful candidate to help stabilise the business, manage the restructuring, implement consistent and integrated approaches, as well as drive engagement and cultural development. You will be involved in a variety of HR specific projects such as SAP and Workday and broader manufacturing projects to help the business achieve its expansion objectives.

The ideal candidate will already be a strong HR professional with a history of working in global complex unionised blue-chip manufacturing organisations (possibly FMCG or pharmaceutical) where HR expertise has been critical to its success and smooth running.

You will be a strong relationship builder who will manage the existing union relationships as well as two direct reports. You will be a self-starter, used to working autonomously, happy to be hands-on when required to deliver operational requirements. You will have a strong business acumen with a desire to "get things done".

So, who will this role suit? For a start, HR experience in UK manufacturing environments will be a given. You may be experienced in working within a similar environment and feel now is the time to move into a larger more autonomous role where you are the lead "go to" person.

Alternatively, you may currently be in a number one role, having already operated as part of management team in a smaller organisation. This role could provide the opportunity to be part of a global business with an ambitious and positive future and a commitment towards investment.

What is important is that candidates with commercial acumen can demonstrate how they have led the people agenda and are comfortable working with limited direction.
