HR Director

We are seeking a HR Director to take the HR function to the next level, by being a valued partner with all stakeholders and continuing to build key function capability to support business growth.

The Role

•    Develop and drive a robust people strategy aligned to the business strategy and the company values
•    Attend and contribute at board meetings, when required
•    Provide strategic and operational HR support across the business
•    Lead, develop and implement the people agenda, incorporating recruitment, retention, training, development and succession planning
•    Drive a culture of high performance and engagement across the organisation
•    Drive continuous improvement of people processes and organisational development
•    Lead and coach a HR team of three (plus more)
•    Own and develop all HR policies and employment practices
•    Embed a culture of performance and capability across all functions throughout the business
•    Improve employee engagement through better communication and the people page on the intranet
•    Put in place streamlined annual leadership development and succession planning process
•    Provide leadership on the learning and development strategy
•    Ensure the remuneration strategy rewards, develops and rates high performing employees
•    Lead annual pay reviews and salary benchmarking
•    Put in place an HRIS and a change management framework

The Candidate

•    Graduate or equivalent qualifications, CIPD qualified
•    Multi-site commercial experience across Head Office and in regional sites
•    Proven experience of devising and implementing a people strategy aligned to business strategy and goals
•    Expertise and experience across the full HR lifecycle, encompassing employee attraction, engagement, development, retention, ER, reward, talent management, leadership development and organisational development
•    Confident communicator who is able to build trust and credibility quickly, with coaching skills to work closely with senior colleagues
•    Ability to provide best practice employment law and HR policy guidance to colleagues through the organisation
•    Highly visible and able to offer proactive solutions and ideas
