L&D Advisor (Early Careers)

My client, an award-winning multimedia news brand is looking for a new L&D Advisor (Early Careers) to design and execute their Apprentice, Graduate and Intern programmes. It is a creative and highly visible role that forms an important part of our wider Talent and Performance strategy.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to embed, and review and enhance, existing Future Talent programmes: Apprentices, Graduates and Interns.

  • Identify measures of success for programmes, and report on their effectiveness regularly.

  • Plan, design and deliver appropriate L&D solutions, and plan and execute rotations (where required), for participants.

  • Write communications collateral for participants, participants' Line Managers and business stakeholders.

  • Coach participants' Line Managers and business stakeholders to ensure they're providing appropriate levels of guidance and support.

  • Review and manage existing partnerships with third parties, and build new partnerships to enhance our reputation as an employer of choice for future talent, and influence our reputation and standing in the industry (e.g. participating in Trailblazer groups).

  • Identify Future Talent requirements (this may include the design of new Future Talent programmes - e.g. a Graduate Programme outside of Editorial or a paid Work Experience programme).

  • Partner with the Head of Talent Acquisition to design and deliver effective recruitment campaigns (including attraction and selection).

What are we looking for:

  • Experience of designing learning and development programmes and solutions with a basic understanding of adult learning theories (experience within early careers programmes is a must).

  • Organisation and planning.

  • Partnering and influencing.

  • Communicating and presenting; able to communicate effectively in person and in writing, and represent The Telegraph at external events.

  • Pro-activity; able to work independently and drive projects to completion.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
