HR Manager - Legal

An internationally recognised Law firm based in Central London are recruiting for an HR Manager to join their team. You will work closely with the HR Director in offering support to manage and develop the HR team in ensuring it meets both operational and strategic objectives. As the HR Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Developing effective working relationships with both partners and line managers and providing them with HR advice

  • Facilitate on-going performance management, reinforcing the importance of continuous and honest feedback

  • Providing support and advice to practice areas and supporting teams on both strategy and operational matters

  • Ensuring all employee relations matters within the firm are handled appropriately and in accordance with policies

  • Effectively managing discipline and grievance issues

  • Maintaining and appropriately sharing knowledge of employment legislation, best practise and industry experience

  • Ensuring employee absenteeism is monitored and appropriate action is taken

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and systems and ensuring that the handbooks are up-to-date

  • Leading and developing projects to support HR and the wider firm strategies

  • Evaluating training and development requirements and identifying appropriate solutions building relationships with training providers

  • Designing and overseeing the firm's annual internal training programme

  • Preparing allocated practice areas and supporting teams' recruitment and training budgets and then monitoring progress throughout the year

  • Forecasting and management of HR budget

  • Assisting HR Director with the annual salary review and bonus distribution

  • Direct management and development of HR team members

  • Working closely with HR Director to develop and implement HR strategy

As the HR Manager you will possess:

  • Strong academics, ideally to degree level

  • Ideally CIPD qualified

  • Strong generalist HR experience ideally within legal or professional services

  • Strong HR ops experience

  • Previous experience managing and developing team members

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent relationship management skills
