HR Assistant

A brilliant opportunity has arisen with a leading international rail manufacturer, based in Central London. They require a strong administrator to join the business as a HR Assistant. The role will provide you with an opportunity to develop your HR career and to travel to other sites on a regular basis

As the successful candidate you will have some HR experience ideally within a corporate environment providing general HR support. Reporting directly to the HR Services Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a professional and responsive service to customers both internally and externally

  • First line support for employees queries

  • Providing information to managers and staff about HR policies, procedures and processes

  • Supporting all aspects of the company HR activities such as; new starter admin, probations, references, induction, employee changes, annual salary and bonus reviews.

  • Responsible for maintenance of relevant employee personnel records both in hard copy and electronic format i.e. contracts, benefits, medical records, training records, competency and appraisals

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Previous administrative experience with an HR department particularly creating and issuing contracts

  • Excellent planning, prioritising and organising skills and an awareness and understanding of HR practices together with a sound knowledge of and compliance to HR legislation

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work within a pressured environment whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy

  • Intermediate IT skills - typically Word, Excel, Powerpoint

  • An understanding of SAP or Workday for HR
