About Our Client

The Head Of Research & Analysis will lead the team of circa 30 analysts to use data based research to develop the strategy for how Hertfordshire Constabulary can pro-actively police the county. This will be from a mix of historical data within the force and also utilising information from other forces and partner agencies, domestically and internationally. This role will play a vital part in reviewing, understanding, challenging and, as appropriate, refining the culture and delivery of the Constabulary's strategic plan. Previously this role holder has been a senior police officer so this is a unique opportunity to transform the way the team operates. There is also a real appetite for the Head Of Research & Analysis to challenge and change current ways of thinking and working to ensure Hertfordshire Constabulary is best equipped to meet the existing and emerging challenges that the future will present.
Along with leading the team, the Head Of Research will take the lead in presenting findings and offering solutions to the senior team and external stakeholders that will ultimately shape strategy for the force.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a research background, ideally from an academic environment. They will be able to understand the detail of the research whilst keeping in tune with the wider perspective of the strategic aims. They will also be a proven people manager who looks to continuously develop and challenge the culture of their team. Finally, the successful individual will need to be able to present strong evidence based arguments to help formulate the strategy that will directly impact the lives of communities across the county. This will include both written and verbal reporting to high level audiences, including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, senior police officers and staff and other partner agencies.
