Do you want to work for an organisation whose primary goal is to improve the financial wellbeing and lives of potentially millions? If so, then leading the People function of this 1,500 strong UK based charity could be the career move you've been waiting for.
Our Leeds based client was the pioneer of providing free debt advice over 25 years ago. It is a people-centric organisation, whose vision is to create a society free from problem debt and its clients are at the heart of everything it does. Reporting into the recently appointed CEO, this is an exciting time to join the organisation as it transforms strategically, organisationally and culturally, and looks at innovative ways to take its offering to new markets as well as focus on treating the causes of problem debt. In essece it aims to help even more people turn their lives around.
We're seeking an experienced candidate with a strong technical HR background who has the leadership experience that comes having operated comfortably with a team of senior executives and board of trustees. This is not a development role, we are looking for someone who has operated at the most senior level and sees this as their time to "give something back", someone whose values mirror those of the organisation.
The new People Director will be a great ambassador of the People function as well as the wider organisation, leading all people-based activity from both the strategic and operational perspective. Every aspect of HR, OD, Reward, ER, Talent, Recruitment and Resourcing and Internal Communications will fall within their remit, as will being the CEO's confidante and sounding board.
Specific sector experience is not a pre-requisite although candidates who have operated at the senior levels of regulated environments such as Financial Services, Utilities, Telco are more likely to hit the ground running. Contact centre experience and/or working in a fast paced environment would be a real benefit too.
In summary, we are looking to appoint an experienced leader, who is a bright, collaborative, innovative, pragmatic and versatile individual who is as comfortable dealing with the board of trustees as they are with a front-line call centre operator.
Our client is a genuinely values focused organisation with a social heart which delivers with a commercial edge. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with an inspiring and committed executive team who have great ambitions for the future and truly want to improve the life of millions.
