Temporary Payroll Manager (Sole) - £42-48k + bonus
Oakleaf Partnership are working with a leading media business with offices close to Paddington/Edgware Road who have a need to bring in a Sole Payroll Advisor/Manager to take ownership of the company payroll. Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Responsible for ensuring the monthly payroll (including inputs by outsourced provider) and key quarterly and annual activities are accurately processed and on time, 750 employees over 3 payrolls.
Proactively manage work to ensure all payroll deadlines are achieved.
Assist the Reward & People Operations Partner with benefit administration.
Clear and transparent documentation and communication of processes, systems and controls for the payroll and benefit processes.
Formal check, sign-off and management of the payroll on a monthly basis.
Deal with all aspects of payroll including: RTI, tax, NIC, SMP, SPP, SSP, court orders, pension scheme deductions, student loans, season ticket loan etc.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Must have extensive knowledge of UK payroll legislation, ideally within a sole role but not essential, looking for someone who can take the step up
Advanced Excel skills, high levels of attention to detail
Clear and effective communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Proven experience delivering an excellent payroll function
Understand the basics of accounting implications of payroll actions
