We are retained Search Consultants acting on behalf of our highly respected client organisation who have chosen to look externally for a high calibre, talented HR professional to support the Technology Division. This client is a FTSE 250, highly respected brand with an exciting growth/transformation programme ahead.

Role Context

This is a newly created position reporting to the CTO was appointed in 2016.  Over the last two years, he has led a significant – and disruptive change programme to revolutionise the way that Technology impacts the business. He inherited a team of fewer than 40 employees and this year, the number will have increased to 160 with 6-10 engineers joining each month. These hires and the rebuilding of the platform will enable the company to grow to two million customers over the medium-term. Our client operates at high-transactional scale, processing large volumes of data. This presents new opportunities to understand customer behaviours and to create an improved experience as a result.

Our client is now seeking to appoint a truly dynamic People Partner to support this ambitious and business critical function to grow further. The scope is fabulous and will appeal to a person who is not averse to hard work, pace and change. The OD agenda is fascinating and the person will be passionately involved in design, modelling and scaling the business. New methods of working will be explored and boundaries will be pushed with across the people agenda, processes and ‘the way things are done’. This will be appropriately disruptive and this person will have learnt how to do this in a similar technology or telecoms environment.  It will suit and ambitious, courageous and driven individual.

Person/Experience

  • Proven experience of progressive, technology or telecoms organisations (fast growing, demanding/ challenging environments). 
  • Experience of supporting a CTO/CIO as a true partner would be ideal.
  • A seasoned generalist. Comfortable with complexity. Will be accustomed to matrix environments and knows how to make progress without conventional boundaries (though mindful and respectful of impact).
  • Graduate calibre.
