Assistant Payroll Manager

Assistant Payroll Manager - £30-33k - Enfield - 12 month FTC

Oakleaf Partnership are working with a leading construction/engineering business with offices in Enfield, have a need to bring in a Assistant Payroll Manager to join the business on a 12 month FTC. Reporting into the Payroll Manager, your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of the payroll team

  • Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements

  • Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner

  • Administer benefit plans

  • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements

  • Compile data from payroll sources

  • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports

  • Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations

  • Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations

  • Maintain accurate account balances

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Knowledge of payroll principles and practices

  • Ability to step up as the main support to the payroll manager

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing

  • knowledge of applicable government laws

  • Good working knowledge of Excel

  • Proficiency in relevant payroll and accounting software

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, planning and organising with strong communication skills
