Faculty / Directorate

ITMS is a centralised directorate that supports all of the organisations business technology including, Infrastructure, AV and Multimedia, Service Management, Applications and Systems support and Programmes and Planning. The Business Partner is a member of the Business Engagement Team in the Programmes, Planning & Governance department of ITMS. The Team comprises three Business Partners and three Business Analysts.

Recent major investments include multimillion pound programmes to refresh our IT infrastructure and our core business systems, delivering transformative change underpinned by the implementation of SAP Finance, HR/Payroll, student Lifecycle management and CRM. With these foundations in place the next stage is to deliver a digital revolution, leveraging opportunities provided by technologies such as cloud based services, data analytics, the Internet of Things and Office 365. Achievement of our ambitious strategy is dependent on hiring talented professional experts.

Role

The Business Partner delivers a specialist business technology engagement and strategic planning service between ITMS and the University's Faculties and Directorates. Business Partners work closely with managers and senior colleagues within ITMS and throughout the University to identify operational and strategic requirements and advise on opportunities to deliver effective business solutions aligned to the University's needs and priorities.

Business Partners ensure ITMS service delivery continues to meet operational and strategic needs and will recommend, develop and promote changes to ITMS service delivery when necessary.

The role requires a broad knowledge of business technology services and the ability to work independently with senior stakeholders to identify and advise/recommend service improvements and ensure these are delivered to the benefit of the university. This is a highly visible and influential position within ITMS.

Ideal Candidate

You will demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills and a passion for championing the best use of business technology. You will have experience working with senior colleagues in a busy technology department and be able to evidence involvement in the implementation of change.
