The opportunity

We’re changing our approach to reward and benefits to support our aspirations for the future to attract and retain the best people in local government. Joining our Employment Practice team, you’ll provide your expertise on reward and benefits. You’ll work collaboratively across the ODP function and the council to develop and apply best fit practice. You will have developed networks with pay and reward specialists who will help to provide insight on new and innovative approaches across public and private sectors. Supporting pay analysis and benchmarking, as well as a review of current reward trends, you’ll help the Council to achieve its objectives and deliver changes to its employment practices.

Knowledge, skills and experience

About you

You’ll have a deep understanding of reward and benefits practice in modern, complex environments. With expert knowledge of job evaluation methods and approaches, and a track record of reward and benefits deployment, you’ll be able to effectively translate reward and benefits methodology into language that employees understand. You’ll have clear analytical and advanced Excel skills and proven experience of project management. As a strong communicator, you’ll be able to build and manage relationships across both internal and external stakeholders, including managing and building strong relationships with contract suppliers.
