Senior HR Advisor (Short FTC)

Epson is now seeking a Senior HR Advisor on a fixed-term contract which is due to end on the 21/12/18. In this role you will provide practical support and advice to managers and employees within Epson UK across the entire employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will ensure all administration procedures run smoothly and maintain a high level of service to all customers both internal and external. You will also provide ad hoc support for implementation of specific local and EMEAR HR projects.

The position will report to the HR Manager, Epson UK and will be based from our office in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead. We are a highly commercial organisation with a progressive growth plan so alongside your HR expertise your ability to influence, empower and above all deliver will be put to good use.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide HR support service covering the end to end employee lifecycle:

  • Proactively manage employee relations cases, absence and welfare issues and provide managers with information and advice and provide administrative support to ensure best practice, adherence to legislation requirements and Epson's policies
  • Participate in recruitment and selection activities, working with HR Manager/Advisor and/or the Central Resourcing team to contribute to a professional and efficient recruitment process. To include administering assessments and, where appropriate conducting interviews to support managers
  • Support the Performance Management (PM) cycle including meeting requirements and timescales for objective setting, mid/end of year reviews. Administer and co-ordinate the on boarding process of new employees
  • Implement all required administration, policies, procedures and communication for the employee lifecycle, including accurate and timely maintenance of all HR Systems and records
  • Support line managers to develop knowledge and good performance management practice and further embed the PM processes
  • Work with the relevant Senior HR Advisor/Manager or Business Partner to prioritise and deliver solutions for individual employee training needs
  • Work with the EMEAR HR Team to ensure efficient training workshop scheduling and administration and supporting the delivery of learning initiatives to line managers and employees
  • Support the HR Manager and EMEAR Compensation & Benefits function in the co-ordination and administration of local pay and benefits activities
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting including headcount / budget tracking, analysis and planning to ensure accurate and timely submissions
  • Support the HR Manager in all required activities for employee representative and other regulatory bodies
  • Contribute to and support the central/EMEAR alignment of activities, practices and policies by providing local input and support in the delivery and implementation of key HR projects
  • Contribute to local projects to improve efficiency, local practices and enhance customer service
  • Work with EMEAR HR team to support the delivery of central business and HR initiatives

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong generalist HR experience in a commercial HR Department, with an understanding of local employment law and HR best practice
  • CIPD Level 7 qualified
  • Able to work autonomously; managing ER cases from start to finish
  • Ideally experienced operating in a large matrix organisation with exposure in other European countries
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Creative, flexible, with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office including Excel including v-look ups and pivot tables and mail merge/PowerPoint
  • Ideally experience working with HR Information Systems
  • Excellent planning and organising approach, with the ability to balance conflicting deadlines and priorities
  • Flexible, tolerant and resilient with a positive attitude to change
  • Evidences a collaborative approach and the ability to work well with a broad group of colleagues
  • Experience of managing external stakeholders including occupational health, HR resources and benefits providers
  • Highly motivated, deadline focused with the ability to consistently maintain high level of accuracy
  • Good level of English and relevant local language skills (verbal and written)
