HR Advisor - Maternity Cover Fixed Term Contract 14 Months
£27,000 FTE, will consider 4 days per week

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.45pm (these hours are flexible)

Role Summary:

This role will provide business focused advice and support on a range of HR and employment matters to both staff and managers. Responsibilities will include employee relations & engagement, performance & absence management as well as rewards & benefits. The perfect candidate will have experience of preparing payroll information, (payroll is outsourced) ensuring compliance with safer recruitment policies and sound knowledge of current employment legislation. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR Advisor who is CIPD qualified and has strong organisational skills and integrity, to join a fantastic organisation


Employee Relations:

  • Provide first point of contact for HR information and advice to queries from staff members and line management
  • Support managers with the implementation and monitoring of the Staff Attendance Management
  • Conduct meetings with staff, in order to progress and resolve HR related queries.
  • Oversee staff benefits and source new benefits
  • Support the Head of HR with grievance, disciplinary and capability investigations and hearings

Recruitment and Induction:

  • Assist with the coordination of the recruitment process
  • Oversee the preparation of new starter paperwork, employment contracts and amendments
  • Respond to staff queries regarding SML and Paternity leave

Payroll Administration:

  • Prepare monthly data for payroll processing by external payroll provider, ensuring all starters, leavers, amendments, benefits etc. are accurately recorded in a timely manner

Performance Management:

  • Co-ordinate the data management for monitoring the probationary period reviews and performance management records for staff

What you'll need to succeed

  • CIPD qualified
  • Generalist HR Advisor/Officer with experience of providing first line advice and guidance to managers and staff
  • Experience of processing HR data for payroll purposes
  • Sound understanding of employment law
  • Proven experience of effective attendance management
  • Confident user of all Microsoft packages
