Job Description

The Team

People and Change is an integral part of KPMG’s Management Consultancy practice and a growing part of our business. This team help to transform the performance of organisations by changing the way people are led, managed and developed. We do this by focusing on two key areas – delivering the people agenda on large scale, complex, transformational change programmes and transforming the HR function. 

We have 6 key capabilities that work across the sectors:

  • Behavioural Change Management
  • Human Resources Optimisation
  • Organisation Design for Performance
  • Talent Management
  • Workforce Intelligence
  • HR Deals / Sourcing. 

The Role

We are seeking talented individuals with experience of Organisation Design to join our growing Government and Infrastructure (G&I) team who work with clients across Central Government, Transport, Infrastructure and Business Services.

Candidates should have experience and proficiency relevant to a number of our Organisation Design areas (e.g. deep practical expertise across 2-3 of the following)

  • Organisational Due Diligence – experience and expertise in performing Organisational Design Due Diligence. Experience in analysis of determining an organisation’s cost buckets, establishing the organisation’s baseline in the context of Organisational Design, and undertaking spans and layers analysis.
  • Organisational Model - experience in operating model design and implementation of new Target Operating Models (TOM). We seek experience in people management structures, awareness of best practice, and organisation maturity assessments and strategy mapping. We seek strong OD and HR skills that can be applied to Operating Model, Organisational Design and Sourcing or more widely to business transformation projects, where re-organisation and restructures form a core part of the business change. Experience of detailed organisational design, including developing job descriptions and awareness of sizing mechanisms.
  • Implementation Planning – strong experience in the implementation of Organisational Design projects. Experience of planning and delivery of implementation programmes is desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of a G&I project, working closely with colleagues from other areas of Management Consulting
  • Manage a small team of consultants and/or facilitate client teams
  • Provide specialist Organisation Design advice and work closely with the client leads and team members to successfully deliver project outcomes
  • Manage quality/risk issues and suggest solutions.
  • Contribute to People & Change business development, including working with G&I key account teams to scope opportunities or developing compelling and winning proposals which wow our clients
  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, thought leadership papers and to the People & Change practice more generally

The Person

 

Our candidates should have strong commercial acumen, hunger to learn and develop and be able to thrive in a really fast paced working environment.

  • Recent delivery and business development experience within a consulting environment or transformational change experience from industry
  • Experience in the G&I Sector is preferable
  • Qualifications such as CIPD, Occupational psychology, MBA, Prince2 and caching would be beneficial but not essential
