A leading global law firm is looking for an HR Manager to support their trainee population, covering a period of maternity leave. You will manage a small team and be responsible for any trainee related matters including development, performance, successful qualification and broader pastoral care.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of processes for the development & successful qualification of trainee solicitors including induction, seat planning, performance and development

  • Oversight of seat allocation, international seat assessment processes and client secondments

  • Managing the qualification process and working with Partners and International offices regarding vacancies for qualified trainees

  • Facilitating trainee performance development meetings

  • Overall responsibility for managing ER issues for trainees including:

  • Oversee all England and Wales training contracts for international trainees

  • Recruitment responsibilities including interviewing for vacation schemes and training contracts, attendance at recruitment and student events.

  • Managing relevant budgets on a monthly basis and planning the relevant annual budgets

  • Management & development of HR team for Trainees

  • Regulatory responsibilities including leasing with the SRA on registration processes and regulatory updates

Requirements:

  • Graduate qualification with CIPD or similar certification

  • Will have worked successfully as an HR practitioner in a finance, professional services, consultancy or law firm

  • Experience of working with a trainee population in a law firm highly desirable

  • Excellent track record of working with senior management within a complex international organisation

  • Evidence of successful interface with stakeholders at all levels and ability to win the respect of the Partner community

  • Graduate qualification with CIPD or similar certification
