Regional Role - This role is based in the North (furthest South would be Manchester and North would be some travel to Scotland)
As the Employee Relations Specialist, your role will be to work as part of a small specialist Employee Relations (ER) team, duties will include:
You will be supporting partnering line mangers and stakeholders, providing high level advice and guidance to ensure all risk to the business is understood with regards to people management, policy and decision making.
The successful candidates will develop and coach stakeholders in delivering a legally compliant and consistent best practice approach.
Delivering high-level, non-routine operational advice and guidance to stakeholders and functions of the group across the full range of HR issues, including absence, discipline, grievance, organisational change, TUPE etc.
Providing advice on the interpretation of policy on matters such as recruitment, equal opportunities, retirement, and medical capability.
Working collaboratively with the HR Business Partner team and line managers on the case management of individual complex, high risk and sensitive cases.
Supporting line managers with reading, interpreting and assessment of medical and Occupational Health reports.
Communicating and ensuring understanding by the wider Human Resources team, line managers and employees of changes to relevant laws and regulations.
Continuously reviewing and updating HR paperwork and templates to be statutorily compliant and ensuring that all documentation associated with potential dismissal is reviewed by the ER team prior to issue.
Drafting Settlement Agreements and coaching line managers in having protected conversations and managing associated negotiations.
Supporting the development and review of Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative updates and changes.
Maintaining proactive and engaging lines of communication with Employee Forum representatives and union representatives at all times.
Risk assessing and managing ACAS Early Conciliation claims and preparing initial Ground of Resistance responses to Employment Tribunal Claims.
Partnering with internal and external counsel to collate information, preparing for and when necessary, attend mediation's, arbitration, and other court proceedings such as Tribunals.
Collaborating with Learning and Development to design and deliver continuous upskilling to line managers on ER and HR subjects at regular intervals throughout the year.
Undertaking other duties commensurate with the level as requested by the Head of Employee Relations.
