Oakleaf Partnership are currently working with a national children's charity who are looking for a Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Wellbeing to join their team on a 6 month FTC basis. This role reports into the Chief People Officer and sits within the HR department. This role is a full time position and can be based from home as there is a requirement of travel across the UK. In addition you will have line management responsibilities for 3 full time staff.
The main objective of this role is to work with the HR teams including People Partners to develop and deliver organisation-wide strategy for Safety, Health, Environment and Wellbeing to increase organisation awareness and competence. You will also be responsible for specific corporate initiatives to enable the organisation and its services to grow in line with the organizational business plan.
Take accountability of key people metrics and deliver robust people frameworks to address them
Provide strategic direction and leadership on the development and implementation of a health, safety and wellbeing strategy
Support the development of an organisation culture to embed the strategy by upskilling managers and raising awareness
Leading on the development and review of standard reporting on Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environmental risk management
To ensure that Health and Safety risks about property maintenance are addresses through transparent and validated improvement plans
Manage relationships with all external partners relating to Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Develop and maintain a management system to ensure they are in line with good practice
To be successful for this position you should have excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation including food safety and environmental legislation. You should have experience of budget setting and experience of strategic planning. You should have the ability to travel across the UK as required. You should ideally be a Chartered Member of ISOH or equivalent.
