Head of Organisational Development

Our client is a market leading international life sciences organisation with a global reach.  As part of its ongoing focus on sustainable growth in both existing and new markets, the HR Director has created a new position of Head of Organisational Development.  

The role has a remit to design and implement a range of impactful OD interventions encompassing all aspects of Talent Management, Leadership Development, Performance Management, Culture, Organisation Design, Change Management and Employee Engagement.  

Reporting to the Global HR Director, and leading a small team of OD/HR professionals, this role will focus on establishing a newly formed Global OD Centre of Expertise.  The role holder will work closely with the HR Director, HR Business Partners and business leaders to provide leadership and expertise across the whole OD spectrum. 

Specifically, you will develop the OD agenda and implementation map for the global organisation.  Lead, design, develop, pilot and monitor organisation-wide OD approaches and initiatives and, implement solutions that build organisational and line manager capability across all areas.

Success in the role will be measured in a number of ways including cost, quality and time metrics. However, the key measure of success will be that the OD agenda is perceived by the business leaders as a critical enabler of their success.

You will have a minimum of 8-10 years demonstrable and broad experience of leading an OD agenda with responsibility for Talent, Leadership, Performance, Org Design and Change within an international, professional, corporate environment.  It is expected that you will be of graduate caliber and ideally hold a Masters degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, HR, Business OD or Change.

It is important that you are able to work across boundaries in a global matrix and to be able to influence effectively at all levels.  You will be commercially aware and recognise the business impact of the OD solutions you provide.
