My client is a leading Scandinavian bank with operations in London and across Europe, Asia and the US.
This exciting contract position is to report into the Head of UK Learning & Development, and will be responsible for developing the banks current Training & Competence (T&C) scheme in preparation for a full UK banking licence and the creation of a UK subsidiary.
The key deliverables of the role will be to ensure the enhanced T&C scheme is regulatory compliant and detail the processes for ensuring all employees are capable and competent to carry out their roles. You will also be expected to review the banks existing competency framework, with a particular focus on proficiency levels and technical competencies, and developing a training matrix by job role which focuses on the technical, behavioural and leadership skills.
In addition, there is also the opportunity to undertake a training needs assessment across the Bank to identify and remediate any training gaps and developing the T&C processes for Senior Managers to ensure they are fit and proper to carry out their designated roles and functions.
The HR team in London is keen for someone to join as soon as possible and can offer a 9 month contract initially. The successful candidate will need to be an expert training & development professional who has ideally worked in a regulated UK retail banking environment or wider financial services. Previous experience in the development of T&C schemes is essential, as is familiarity with the relevant UK regulatory rules for all staff. Knowledge of the MIFID II T&C requirements would be useful too.
Strong project management skills as well as the ability to manage and implement change are also essential for this role.
