This is an exciting time to be involved in Human Resources at Affinity Water; we are dramatically changing the way we do this, moving from being a traditional, transactional function to a strategy focused, transformational team. Over the last 12 months we have grown to 20 people, split into specialist teams and started to really improve the way we work to achieve organisational goals.
As the Head of Learning and Development, you’ll be someone who is excited in change, loves the thought of juggling multiple projects at any one time, wants to be part of an evolving team and takes heart in helping to lead and shape that team. There is a lot to change, you’ll struggle to prioritise which bits to do first but get excited by making that decision. Some things have been started to help you along though, we have a new learning management system due for launch soon, some line manger training in place, an apprentice levy strategy and more but there’s still plenty we could focus on for the future.
You’ll have a real passion for what you do and be able to clearly see long term gain from the projects you are delivering. Knowing that hard work and dedication will pay off in the end, even if some days it doesn’t seem like it! It’s a big ask, there will be tough days and great days but every day you’ll be safe in the knowledge that you are making a difference.
