Payroll Officer

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the processing of the UK Payroll. Input and checking all aspects of Payroll
  • Processing payroll for around 1200 UK employees on a monthly basis
  • Knowledge and application of statutory rules in relation to: SSP, SMP, SAP etc.
  • Ability to manually calculate PAYE and NI calculations when required
  • Maintaining an understanding of current payroll legislation
  • Assist with preparing monthly payroll reconciliations and control reports
  • Assist with processing the separate Partner Payroll - LLP structure
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Experience and skills:

  • Previous experience of processing UK payrolls
  • Experience of Professional Services Environment
  • Good understanding of UK Payroll Process and of the UK Tax Framework
  • Proactive attitude with excellent time management skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Good knowledge of Excel, data manipulation and excellent numerical skills (v-look up, pivot tables etc)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
