HR Business Partner - Policy

My client, a central government organisation, are looking to appoint a HR Business Partner on an interim basis for a period of 12 months.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing clear simplified policies, handbook, processes and templates to support the efficiency and effectiveness of both HR and client groups within the organisation. The focus of the role will be on developing and implementing practical interventions that are easy to understand and access.

  • Provide customer focused support to managers and staff on policy issues, and liaise with staff, senior management and trade union representatives, balancing the requirements of multiple stakeholders and suggesting solutions to problems.

  • Lead the improvements to policy, handbook, guidance, contracts and letter templates. Provide support to streamline processes to create an efficient and effective HR service, ensuring information is readily accessible via the HR information system.

  • Update and minimise the staff handbook ensuring that any changes are also accompanied with updates to supporting documentation, forms and interrelated policies.

  • Communicate changes in HR process and policy clearly, concisely and with impact.

  • Design and provide guidance for staff and managers including, workflow process maps, in-house update workshops for managers to improve HR knowledge & procedure understanding.

The ideal candidate will have significant HR experience and of researching policies and developing fit for purpose policy documents. You will also have significant knowledge and expertise of all related HR policy, practice and principles.
