In this second video, I look at the shape or architecture of workplace disputes, including the escalating emotional trajectory experienced by all those directly involved.
I also argue that traditional means of resolving disputes, namely grievance and appeals procedures, don’t work. Indeed, they serve to escalate the dispute further and are now increasingly used as part of the litigation process.
I conclude with some thoughts about using mediation at an early stage of the dispute to avoid this emotional and legal escalation.
