About Lucian Tarnowski

Lucian Tarnowski, founder and managing director of Brave New® Talent (www.BraveNewTalent.com)

Lucian (24) is the energetic face behind Brave New® Talent. He is an award winning young entrepreneur, ranking fifth in the recent NatWest and RBS search for the UK’s “Top 15 up and coming Entrepreneurs”. Lucian is also the youngest entrepreneur to join the UKTI’s (UK Trade and Investment) hugely successful Global Entrepreneur Program.

Lucian has a 'born global' attitude with a strategy to match. Brave New Talent has been described by UKTI as a “Technology company of Exceptional Potential”. While at the University of Edinburgh, Lucian became interested in Generation Y (those born between 1980-2000) and how due to labour shortages they will get promoted faster than their predecessors and will become increasingly harder to recruit and retain. As Generation Y enters the global workforce, Brave New Talent aims to connect the best of this emerging talent to the world’s leading employers.

BraveNewTalent.com is the world’s first pre-employment social network - a new way of connecting talent with potential employers. The platform enables students to take control of their careers by creating professional profiles and connecting to their desired employers. With the help of venture capital funding, BraveNewTalent.com will launch initially in the UK and Indian student markets, but has plans to scale-up globally.

BraveNewTalent.com investors include Ben Way, known for his appearance in the recent television series “The Secret Millionaire” and founder of The Rainmakers (www.makingrain.com), an innovations company that focuses on venture creation; start-up acceleration; and corporate venturing. Ben is a non-executive director of Brave New Talent.

The business also has the backing of a team of successful entrepreneurs with experience in technology, IT, recruitment and finance.

In addition to launching Brave New Talent, Lucian runs the charity Take Heart India (www.takeheartindia.org). Through his fundraising efforts, the charity has built an IT school in rural India which trains hundreds of blind students in IT skills. He is also a Next Generation India advisor on the board of the UK India Business Council, the lead organisation supporting the promotion of bilateral trade opportunities between the two countries. Other board members include Sir Richard Branson and Lord Karan Billimoria, founder of Cobra Beer.

Lucian is passionate about the potential of the next generation and plays an active role in youth leadership. He is also currently pioneering a foundation for future leaders called The Youngers www.the-youngers.org, in partnership with The Elders initiative www.theelders.org, which was formed by Nelson Mandela to articulate new approaches to global issues.
