&lt;p&gt;Whilst there are undoubtedly clear business benefits to matching employees to the customer profile, no business should overlook the fact that in general, &amp;quot;older workers ... are able to give sound advice based on similar life experiences&amp;quot; &amp;nbsp;- &amp;nbsp;to all customers, regardless of age. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The related quality of wisdom is much underrated in the business context and not something which is often included in job specifications. Of course, wisdom isn't restricted to older people but perhaps a little more recognition of its value to any business would assist its development earlier in the career?&lt;/p&gt;
